There are two major ways to turn an iPhone 11 off
- Turn off the iPhone 11 by pressing the physical buttons
- Turn off the iPhone 11 using the settings app without pressing physical buttons
Turn off iPhone 11 by
pressing the physical buttons
On latest iPhone (iPhone X, iPhone XS, iPhone XS Max, iPhone

older iPhone (iPhone 5, iPhone 5S, iPhone SE (1st), iPhone 6, iPhone 6 Plus,
iPhone 6S, iPhone 6S Plus, iPhone 7, iPhone 7 Plus, iPhone 8, iPhone 8 Plus)
you can turn off your iPhone by pressing and holding the side button or power
button until the “slide to power off” option appears on the iPhone screen. On iPhone
11, the Side button is now the Siri button. If you just click it, it will sleep
or wake your iPhone 11. But if you press it and hold it, it calls up Siri,
instead of turning the phone off. But you can still turn off the iPhone 11 by
using a button sequence.
There are 3 ways to turn off the iPhone 11 by pressing and holding the buttons.
- Press and hold either volume up button or volume down button (doesn’t matter which one) on the left side of the iPhone 11 and the side button on the right side of the iPhone 11 simultaneously until appear the “slide to power off” bar on the screen of the iPhone 11.
